Free text messaging on iPhone with Google Voice number

I recently found a great solution for getting free text messaging on my iPhone. I don't like the idea of paying AT&T 20 cents per message or $5-$25 a month for a plan. The program is called TextNow by Enflick, currently rated 4 stars with 708 ratings in the App store. It's 99 cents for 3 months ad-free. Or it's free if you don't mind the ads.

Once everything is setup, your contacts can text your Google Voice number, and you will get an instant push notification from TextNow. As long as you follow instructions during setup, your Google Voice number will always show up as the ID on your text messages.

More information on the app is at the TextNow Web site:

You can download the app directly at:

Mac Install on MSI Wind

Step by step easy instructions for

MSI Wind U100-432US 10-Inch Netbook (1.6 GHz Intel Atom Processor, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive, XP Home, 6 Cell Battery) Black

and

MSI Wind U100-279US 10-Inch Netbook (1.6 GHz Intel Atom Processor, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive, XP Home, 6 Cell Battery) White

Make sure you have a copy of MSIwindosx86.iso. You can do a search and download the file here:

http://thepiratebay.org/

Make sure you have a program to make a bootable DVD from your MSIwindosx86.iso. A good freeware program is ImgBurn:

http://www.imgburn.com/

Use a partition program to create a space to install OSX. In Windows XP, Partition Magic is an often used program. A freeware program for Windows is EASEUS Partition Manager 3.0 Home Edition. If you want to partition at boot menu, you could try GParted. Do a Web search if you need more information.

Download the STA_RT2860 wifi card driver from the Ralink Website:

http://www.ralinktech.com/ralink/Home/Support/Macintosh.html

Download the screen fix. Otherwise after install, your desktop would show 800×600 resolution where the
right hand side of screen in blank and black): you will need the GMA950.pkg.zip [159.24 KiB]

Partitioning your drive:

1. Using your partition program, delete and format all other partitions Also the recovery partition! (except your windows partition which is most likely in drive c. Don't delete C!)
2.
You create a primary fat32 partition, and label it "OSX"You decide how
much space you are going to give your osx partition (at least 15 gb,
mine was 80G).
3. Then you create a logical fat32 partition and label it "install"(Make this a 4gb partition.)

Install your MSIwindosx86.iso installation DVD:

1. Make sure your DVD Drive with the installer disk is connected. Power up, and then press "F11" to run boot menu.

2. Choose to boot from your USB DVD drive. The install process will begin, and you will see many lines of text scroll through before you get to the Mac installation graphical interface.

3. Now in the installer choose English as your language.

4. When you get the 'Welcome' screen, don't hit continue straight away! Move your point to the 'Utilities' menu, and select 'Disk Utility'.

5. Choose the partition you labeled "OSX"

6. Click the erase button and change the format from "MS-DOS" to "MAC OSX extended (journaled)" and format the partition.

7. Now quit the DiskUtility and go back to the language chooser

8. Then click continue until you reach the screen where you have to choose your partition (Choose the partition you labeled "OSX")

9. Before you click install go into Customize and uncheck the kernel.

10. At the "Intall Summary" window, click "install".

11. Now you just follow the steps in the installer.

12. You can then use the realtek wifi driver and graphics resolution fix by simply clicking on them on your hard disk

A photo I took was published in a children's book, Mysteries of the Mummy Kids. The book has been out for several months, but I just recently visited the local library and got a look for the first time. You can see the original photo on the AndesWeb site. Una foto mía salió en un libro para niños.

Norwegian Dream Review - South America

This cruise was wonderful. As expected, the scenery was amazing. However, the views still exceeded expectations. In fact, the entire cruise exceeded expectations. The experience on-board and at the ports was amazing. This was despite a very bad start, as the embarkation process was horrendously long and confusing. To his credit, the captain explained and made apologies. Disembarkation was a comparative breeze - with only about a 30-minute delay. The crew and staff from the top-down were friendly and professional. The on-board entertainment was also first-rate and a pleasant surprise. [More - see full review at cruisecritic.com]
